The delegate will be able to:
- Assess a situation to ensure their own safety
- Recall the chain of survival
- Choking – perform abdominal thrusts (practical)
- Recognise a cardiac arrest
- Identify and deal with unconsciousness
- Perform CPR protocol (practical)
- Safely operate an automatic external defibrillator (practical)
- Identify common faults with an AED
- Interpret the panel of an AED
- Perform routine maintenance on AED
- Demonstrate how to perform CPR (practical)
- Demonstrate how to use an AED (practical)
- Position someone in the recovery position (practical)
- Demonstrate how to give an accurate handover to paramedics following the use of CPR and an AED

Recommended For: All staff and the minimum requirement if access to a defibrillator is available.
Duration: Approximately 3 hours
Certification: A certificate of attendance will be awarded
Cost: £68.25 per delegate (plus VAT) Minimum of 8 delegates, Maximum of 12 delegates

NOTE: Due to the practical nature of this course we recommend that delegates wear flat shoes, trousers and long-sleeved tops.
