Thatched properties – Fire Safety Advice/Guidance

Following the attendance of Norfolk Fire & Rescue Service at a thatch property fire in Rockland All Saints. Owners of thatch properties are advised to have a look at Norfolk Fire & Rescue Service’s Thatch Safety Advice

There are some simple steps to follow to help make your property as safe as possible.

More than 90% of fires in thatched properties are caused by faults in the flue or chimney – which are preventable!
Unfortunately with the thatch being highly susceptible to damage by fire it is extremely difficult to stop because thatch is designed to repel water.
