Teach them young and keep our communities safe

Last week we spent a day at Eaton Hall Specialist Academy, delivering Emergency First Aid at Work training to 6 students.

The pupils enjoyed practicing putting their new First Aid skills into action. They were only too keen to bandage one another and put their fellow students into the recovery position!

The course was split into two, 3 hours sessions. This helped the students stay focused and engaged with the course content.

We also ran a separate Fire Marshal Course where the students got to use real fire extinguishers.

Having the opportunity to use equipment such as defibrillators, fire blankets and tourniquets, gave them an insight into how to deal with an emergency situation. It has equipped them with some life saving, practical skills – all designed to help keep our communities safe.

It was great to be able to raise awareness and talk to them about fire prevention and keeping safe in an emergency.

Teaching this at an early age is such a positive way of working to keep our communities safe.
